Job summary

Sava is redefining health tech with biosensing and real-time backend infrastructure. This backend engineer role will drive the design and implementation of production-grade backends, APIs, and services, collaborating across disciplines to scale our platform from prototype to product.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers and scientists, translating complex requirements into scalable systems, influencing technical decisions, and improving observability and security

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with production backends.
• Strongly typed languages (Go preferred).
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiar with modern deployment strategies.
• Experience building APIs, backend services, or data-processing applications.
• Knowledge of internet networking concepts, protocols, servers, and cloud infrastructures.
• Fluent in setting up development servers from scratch on premise or cloud.
• Proficient in HTTP, DNS, and related protocols; cloud infra concepts.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Desire for elegant interfaces and loosely coupled systems.
• Focus on scalable solutions and rapid market ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Design & implement backend architectures, APIs, applications, services, and databases.
• Write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Automated testing of backend infrastructure.
• Contribute to high-performance software development processes balancing performance, reliability and security.
• Champion best practices.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions with engineers and stakeholders.
• Translate system requirements into concrete technical designs.
• Monitor production systems and improve observability with metrics, logging and diagnostics.
• Support continuous improvement of development, deployment and operations processes.
