Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Senior Marketing and Campaign Writer with a strong journalistic background and a proven ability to craft compelling, insightful content tailored to the UK public sector. This freelance role is ideal for a specialist with at least 10 years of experience in writing and editing business and marketing campaign content—particularly within the context of UK infrastructure, government, and public services.

What you will do:

• Plan, research, write, and edit high-quality content aligned with the client’s campaign objectives and brand voice.
• Produce a wide range of content types, including thought leadership articles and blogs, case studies, marketing brochures and flyers, email campaigns, reports, and social media posts.
• Collaborate directly with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts within the UK public sector.
• Rapidly absorb and apply complex Brand and Tone of Voice guidelines.
• Participate in client calls, interview stakeholders, and extract valuable insights to inform content creation.
• Respond to feedback with professionalism and adaptability, making prompt revisions as needed.
• Ensure all copy is grammatically precise, aligned with layout expectations, and submitted on time.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of writing and editing experience with a journalistic approach focused on business and marketing campaigns.
• Deep understanding of the UK Government, infrastructure, and public services.
• Strong knowledge and writing experience across Places Campaign themes.
• Proven ability to produce at least five of the following content types: thought leadership, case studies, brochures/flyers, emails, reports, and social media content (writing samples required).
• Experience engaging with senior public sector stakeholders and thought leaders is a strong advantage.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word) and MS Teams, with the ability to work confidently using tracked changes, proper file naming, and shared documentation.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility toward deadlines and quality.
• Calm under pressure and adaptable to fast-paced revisions and urgent requests.
• Open to constructive feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and interviewing skills, particularly in engaging stakeholders and extracting key insights.
• Integrity-driven with a strong work ethic, consistently aiming to deliver high-quality work the first time.
