Job summary

UBDS in London is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build and migrate enterprise scale Azure environments, collaborating with architects, security specialists and delivery teams. You’ll own Azure technical delivery and ensure solutions are automated, secure and production-ready.

This hands-on role requires deep Azure experience, IaC with Terraform and ARM/Bicep, and the ability to translate client requirements into pragmatic cloud architectures while mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands on Azure infrastructure experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven Azure build and migration experience including provisioning environments.
• Strong experience with Terraform and ARM/Bicep.
• Windows and Linux Azure VM experience.
• Knowledge of Azure networking, security and governance.
• Experience delivering secure, production-grade cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and stakeholders.
• Azure certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and manage enterprise scale Microsoft Azure environments.
• Lead and deliver Azure build, migration and modernisation activities.
• Build and manage Windows and Linux infrastructure within Azure.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM / Bicep.
• Design and implement Azure networking, connectivity, compute, storage and platform services.
• Embed security, identity, governance, monitoring and resilience into Azure environments.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration through modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and connectivity issues.
• Provide technical assurance through design and code reviews.
• Produce clear technical documentation and implementation plans.
• Work directly with clients to translate requirements into pragmatic cloud solutions.
• Mentor and support other engineers, raising engineering standards.
