Job summary

BT Group in Manchester is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate scalable cloud platforms for BT and EE Business customers. You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and release activities across production environments.

You’ll collaborate with developers, testers and operations across the UK and India to automate, troubleshoot and improve platform reliability, security and performance using AWS services, Terraform, Jenkins and GitHub. AEM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on AWS experience across production environments.
  • Proven DevOps capabilities with CI/CD and release management.
  • Experience supporting Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing operation of business.bt.com and business.ee.co.uk.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure and cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, etc.).
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Support website releases and deployment activities across production environments.
  • Manage SSL certificates and deployment automation processes.
  • Investigate issues by logs analysis and root cause identification.
  • Collaborate with dev, test and ops teams to enable successful releases.
  • Contribute to platform reliability, performance and improvements.

About the role

At BT, we're responsible for delivering and operating critical digital platforms that support BT and EE Business customers across the UK. We're looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting and improving the platforms that power the digital experience for thousands of business customers every day.

This is a hands‑on role combining AWS, DevOps and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). You'll work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, release management and production support, helping to ensure our customer‑facing platforms remain secure, reliable and available.

Working closely with developers, testers, platform engineers and colleagues across the UK and India, you'll be involved in everything from supporting releases and troubleshooting production issues to driving automation and continuous improvement. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, supporting live systems and working with modern cloud technologies, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support the ongoing operation of business.bt.com and business.ee.co.uk.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure and cloud services including Lambda, API Gateway and associated platform components.
  • Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Support website releases and deployment activities across production environments.
  • Manage SSL certificates and deployment automation processes.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues by analysing logs and identifying root causes.
  • Work closely with development, testing and operations teams to support successful releases.
  • Contribute to platform reliability, performance and operational improvements.
  • Participate in planned release activities and operational support requirements.
  • Support automation initiatives and continuous improvement across the DevOps function.
Essential Skills / Experience
  • Strong hands‑on AWS experience, including supporting cloud infrastructure and production environments.
  • Strong DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipeline management, automation and release activities.
  • Experience supporting Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platforms and release activities.
Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda and API Gateway.
  • Experience with Jenkins and Git-based source control platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting customer‑facing digital platforms or websites.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Experience working within distributed or global teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
