Job summary

SER Limited in Royston is seeking a Senior AV Technician to lead the setup, operation and maintenance of audio, video and lighting during corporate events and private parties, with a primary focus on sound.

You will test equipment, configure sound desks, and operate consoles on site while supervising junior technicians and delivering excellent client service with a professional appearance throughout events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in an AV/audio technician role.
• Good knowledge of sound desks, PA systems and microphones.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Full UK Driving Licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead audio technician throughout events and ensure show readiness.
• Test and prepare AV hardware in the warehouse.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians on site.
• Be the client contact on site and manage on-site setup.
• Rig sound, lighting and video equipment for events.
• Operate AV consoles (sound desks, lighting consoles, vision mixers).
• Build and configure LED video walls.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
• Occasionally deliver equipment to site and pack down after events.

The Role:

To play a lead role throughout the preparation, maintenance and operation of audio, video and lighting equipment throughout corporate events and private parties with a primary focus on sound.

Key duties include:

• Acting as lead audio technician / sound technician throughout events.
• Testing and preparing equipment in the warehouse ensuring all AV hardware is show ready and functional.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians in the warehouse and on site.
• Act as the point of contact for clients when on site.
• Rigging sound, lighting and video equipment ahead of each event.
• Operation of AV consoles during events such as sound desks, lighting consoles and vision mixers.
• Building and configuration of LED video walls.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting any issues quickly and effectively.
• Occasional delivery of equipment to site.
• Remaining presentable at all times and acting as a point of contact for clients throughout events.
• Shutdown and pack away equipment after each event.

Requred skills and attributes:

• 3+ years’ experience within an AV / audio technician role with a good all round knowledge of sound desks, PA systems and microphones.
• Knowledge of video and lighting equipment would be beneficial.
• A willingness to work extended hours and weekends where required.
• Experience working within corporate events would be highly beneficial.
• Full UK Driving License
• Right to work in the UK
