Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking a Senior AV Engineer to join its Media Engineering team. You will provide end-to-end technical leadership for AV and experiential technologies, from design reviews to go-live, across LED walls, studios and immersive spaces.

You will partner with Creative, Content and IT teams to ensure systems meet operational needs, deliver high-performance media delivery, and maintain comprehensive support documentation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting and delivering enterprise-scale AV systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of LED display technology, large-format displays and LED wall video scalers.
• Proficient understanding of AV integration, commissioning, Show Control, and networked IT infrastructure.
• Proven ability to document runbooks and troubleshooting guides.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and operational support for AV systems across projects.
• Participate in design reviews with AV integrators, consultants and stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between AV, IT, Engineering and Creative teams to translate requirements into designs.
• Oversee testing, validation, and acceptance of AV systems.
• Lead launch and go-live activities as primary engineering contact.
• Support day-to-day operation, incident management and lifecycle of AV estate.

Reporting into our Senior Media Engineering Manager, this role will provide end-to-end technical leadership, commissioning and operational support for the AV and experiential technology environments.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership and operational support throughout the delivery of the project, acting as the subject matter expert for all AV systems.Participate in technical design reviews and regular meetings with AV integrators, consultants and stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational requirements.Act as a key liaison between the AV integrator, IT, Engineering and Creative teams to ensure requirements are clearly translated into system designs and workflows.Oversee witness testing, system validation, technical acceptance and user acceptance testing for all AV systems.Lead launch and go-live activities as the primary engineering contact, diagnosing issues and coordinating resolution with vendors and internal teams.Support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, incident management and continuous improvement of the AV estate, including LED wall installations, studio facilities and experiential spaces.Develop and maintain comprehensive operational and technical documentation, troubleshooting guides and Day One support playbooks.Partner with Creative and Content teams to optimise media delivery, ensuring high performance across networked AV systems, video servers and display controllers.Support system upgrades, enhancements, lifecycle management and the onboarding and mentoring of engineering team members.What Are We Looking For?Personal QualitiesIn this role it is essential that you are:Passionate about technology and innovation, with impeccable attention to detailGood stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical teamsCalm, effective and flexible under pressure during live operational events and project deadlinesAbility to work weekends or evening during the live events or to meet deadlines when requiredExperiencePrior to the role it would be essential that you have :Significant experience supporting and delivering enterprise-scale AV systems in commercial and/or corporate environmentsHands-on knowledge of LED display technology, large-format displays, LED wall video scalers and video/media serversProficient understanding of AV integration, commissioning, Show Control, networked IT infrastructureProven technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and documentation/runbook creationSome desirable experience that you may bring to the role:Experience delivering experiential, visitor attraction or immersive technology projects within sports or entertainment environmentsQualificationsNot essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:Advanced AV industry certifications, such as AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I or equivalentWhy join the force behind the sport?Joining F1 means becoming part of a team that values innovation, collaboration and personal growth.
