Overview

Senior Automotive Engineer, £45K - £55K, Commutable from Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire

Join a global business delivering world-class research, development, and testing projects for global automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and motorsport teams.

We are looking for a Senior Automotive Engineer to take a lead role within a Kinematics & Compliance (K&C) rig test facility. You will be part of a wider vehicle attributes and performance test team, collaborating across NVH, chassis, and ADAS to deliver breakthrough test and R&D projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support K&C rig test programmes, ensuring vehicles and rigs are prepared and test-ready.
• Provide technical leadership across test and R&D projects.
• Work directly with customer engineering teams, offering technical guidance and support.
• Contribute to commercial proposals by providing technical input for new projects.
• Collaborate with other attribute teams (Dynamics, NVH, ADAS) on complex vehicle testing programmes.
• Drive the future development of testing capabilities and facilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Senior Engineer role within an automotive, motorsport, OEM, Tier 1, test house, or consultancy environment.
• Strong background in vehicle rig or laboratory testing, or chassis development projects.
• Previous experience working with a Kinematics & Compliance (K&C) rig is highly desirable.
• Hands-on skills: confident in using vehicle instrumentation and preparing rigs/vehicles for testing.
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
