We are hiring a Senior Automation QA Engineer to support the Cove backup and disaster recovery product. As a Senior QA, you will focus on maintaining quality standards through developing test plans for the scope delivered by the team. The role involves formulating and implementing automated tests for new features across complex products, services, and components. You will also mentor new team members and support their skills development.

The role is based in our Edinburgh hub.

What You'll Do

• Test complex features at a high level of quality, participate in regression testing, and perform post-delivery checks.
• Develop new automated tests and advise on enhancements to the test framework to ensure quality standards.
• Demonstrate expertise across a set of components, products, or services.
• Identify testing approaches, including automation, and advise on automation plans for features, as well as design and best practices in automated tests development.
• Identify design issues and propose testability improvements; maintain advanced test documentation including test plans and strategies.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to determine requirements.
• Review and enhance usability of features, follow usability guidelines, and analyze customer issues for reproduction.
• Independently determine testing priorities, collaborate with the testing team, assist in onboarding automation, and mentor teammates.
• Create and maintain test infrastructure to ensure operability.

What You'll Bring

• Strong knowledge of testing, automation theory, and the software quality control process and SDLC.
• High skill level in Test Automation: developing new automated tests, enhancing test frameworks.
• Professional experience with automated tests using languages like C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Java, Python, Groovy, or Go.
• Experience with E2E and API automated testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience handling escalations on customer/production issues.
• Experience with HTTP debugging tools (Wireshark, Fiddler, Charles Proxy, DebugDiag) and testing RESTful APIs and distributed web applications.
• Experience working with relational databases, SQL, OS scripting (bash), browser dev-tools, source control (Git), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), Docker, and operating systems (Windows/macOS/Linux).
