An exciting opportunity for a Senior Automation & PLC Engineer has arisen with a global leader in precision metrology and inspection systems, based in Colchester.

This is an excellent chance for a Senior Automation & PLC Engineer, leading the specification, integration, and testing of PLC hardware for advanced X-Ray inspection products. The role combines hands-on PLC application development in Codesys with cross-functional collaboration alongside mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.

You will commit to an onsite working model, required onsite 5 days a week. Regular travel within the UK and the EU will also be required.

Experience required for the Senior Automation & PLC Engineer includes:

• Development and maintenance of PLC application code using Codesys
• Integration of sensors, actuators, and motion control components
• Experience with PLC fieldbus technologies such as EtherCAT
• 5+ years’ experience implementing automated electromechanical systems
