Role Overview:

The Senior Automation Engineer (SAE), in this role will be responsible for the modernization of our existing automated testing framework as well as the automation of post-deployment smoke tests in production. The ATS is a complex and distributed system. A wide ranging QA/DevOps skillset will be required in order to perform automated testing of the ATS platform and push this significant transformation of the SDLC forward. This role will include ongoing automated testing, making enhancements to the automated testing framework and the design and implementation of the production automated smoke test tooling.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of trading applications
  • Design, write, execute and maintain automated test cases for trading applications
  • Make enhancements to existing automated testing framework
  • Implementation of production automated smoke test tooling
  • Contribute to the overall progress of the team and the firm; ensure timely delivery of quality software
  • Serve as third-tier support for production issues and related support needs
Experience / Competences:
  • 5+ years of experience in automated testing of equity products in a global financial services company or vendor using Python, Java or similar programming language
  • 5+ years of experience in testing of capacity and latency sensitive trading systems
  • Experience and knowledge of equity products and instruments including FIX protocol and market data
  • Proficiency with computer technologies including Linux, SQL, Messaging & Distributed Systems
  • Knowledge of equity market structure, order handling and electronic trading
  • Experience of the full software development agile lifecycle in a technical role
  • Experience supporting low latency trading systems built with C++ or similar programming language
  • Experience of delivering platforms and services across multiple teams
  • Experience migrating and managing applications on AWS
