Job summary

As an SAP, you will be responsible for executing construction and asset replacement projects on 11kV-33kV distribution networks, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Organise and execute HV switching, isolation, earthing, and identification of the point of work on HV networks up to 33kV.
• Prepare switching programs and system alteration forms.
• Ensure accurate execution of operational schedules and issue safety documentation.
• Undertake spiking of HV cables and pressure testing of new/modified plant.
• Provide technical support to construction teams.
• Maintain safety standards and a positive working culture.
• Commission and operate electrical plant within substations.
• Plan and organize scopes of work for clients.

Job Requirements

• Proven track record as an SAP within a recognized utility or HV power contractor.
• Hold or have held authorisations within UK's DNOs within the last 12 months.
• Understanding of working under DNO control and switching systems.
• HNC in electrical or engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of overhead lines, underground cabling, and substation equipment.
• Knowledge of ring and radial systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with National Model Distribution Safety Rules.
• Confident in carrying out SAP duties.
• Experience with SSEN DNO preferred.
• Possession of current Senior Authorised Person certificate.
• HNC in Electrical Engineering and safety qualifications are desirable.
