Job summary

Matchtech seeks an experienced Senior Authorised Person to support major power installation projects across the UK, covering 33kV to 132kV networks. The role involves on-site leadership, switching operations, and safety documentation in line with industry standards.

Ideal candidates will hold SAP authorisations for 33kV–132kV, with strong HV safety knowledge, and a willingness to travel nationwide. Permanent position with opportunities for career progression within a growing power infrastructure

Qualifications

• Current or previous SAP authorisations from 33kV up to 132kV.
• Experience on power distribution, transmission, ICP or utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV safety rules, switching and operational procedures.

Senior Authorised Person (33kV to 132kV)

Our client, a leading power infrastructure contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will support the delivery of major power installation and connections projects across the UK, spanning distribution and transmission networks up to 132kV.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out Senior Authorised Person duties on networks from 33kV to 132kV
• Undertake switching operations and issue safety documentation in line with DNO and ICP procedures
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry regulations and company standards
• Support the planning and delivery of installation and connections projects up to 132kV
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operational teams on site
• Liaise with clients, project teams and network operators to ensure safe project delivery
• Maintain accurate operational and safety records
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities

Job Requirements:

• Current or previous SAP authorisations from 33kV up to 132kV
• Experience working on power distribution, transmission, ICP or utility infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of HV safety rules, switching and operational procedures
• Experience supporting installation and connections projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
