This position reports to

Service Team Leader

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service, planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectations. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timelines and expectations.

The work model for this role is remote. This position contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in Northern Virginia. Your main accountabilities include:

  1. Working with the customer on-site to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.
  2. Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and conducting analysis remotely or on-site for certified service categories and products.
  3. Preparing material lists needed for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  4. Acting as a trainer when needed for field service associates and customers.
Qualifications for the role
  • Associates Degree or Technical School training
  • At least 5 years of experience in servicing critical power equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Broad experience in Field Service or related roles focusing on Critical Power Systems (Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Static Switch Batteries, and Power Conditioning Systems).
  • Experience with Medium Voltage power conditioning and distribution equipment is a plus.
  • Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
