Senior Auditor / Assistant Manager, Godalming

Employer: Top 20 Accountancy Practice

TPF Recruitment is working with a prestigious Top 20 accountancy practice seeking a Senior or Assistant Manager to join their audit team in Godalming. You will lead audits for a diverse range of small to medium-sized clients, managing a team of juniors and collaborating with managers to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery. This role offers long-term career development and exposure to various industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train audit semi-seniors and juniors, ensuring quality and development.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify key audit areas.
  • Utilize advanced audit techniques, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
  • Draft and review financial statements and audit reports, communicating findings to supervisors and managers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Complete weekly timesheets and monitor expense and timesheet submissions.
  • Conduct staff appraisals for juniors post-audit.
  • Oversee audit planning and testing, reviewing junior work and providing feedback.
  • Design efficient and thorough audit tests.
  • Deliver audit files that require minimal review.
  • Collaborate with the tax department on provisions, computations, and returns.
  • Prepare and review key audit documents, including highlights and going concern assessments.
  • Ensure completeness of audit files, including sensitivity analysis and risk assessments.
Requirements:
  • ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
  • Experience in leading audits and managing teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge in auditing and financial reporting.
  • Motivated, independent, and team-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and colleagues.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of handling multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and deadline management.
