For our client, a well-established team of Business Advisors and Chartered Accountants with offices in Gloucester, Lydney, and Cheltenham, we are looking to find a Senior Auditor.
The business handles all aspects of advisory, audit, and tax, as well as offering probate and wealth management services.
About You
We're looking for a professional and conscientious audit senior, who is a solid team player with the ability to make key decisions. You'll need to understand and interpret clients' accounts, demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, and possess superb communication skills to develop excellent client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Associate Director/Manager in delivering the audit process in a timely manner, ensuring documentation is completed to standard and audit risks are considered.
- Acting as the initial point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements, answering questions, and holding meetings as needed.
- Helping to train and develop junior team members, including conducting 1-2-1s and appraisals, providing feedback on quality and efficiency, with potential to lead a small team.
- Delivering accurate information to clients, ensuring controls meet audit standards and regulations.
- Evaluating existing processes, identifying issues, and implementing solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Committing to ongoing learning, including staying updated on work efficiencies, technology, standards, regulations, and industry trends, and participating in professional development.
Requirements
- Near or partial ACA or ACCA qualification, with an interest in audit.
- Experience with various audit cases, understanding standards and regulations.
- A responsible individual who owns and manages their client portfolio.
- Effective communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to see the bigger picture and provide appropriate advice.
- Reliable with good time management skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and open to testing new approaches.
