Job description

We have an exciting opportunity within a prestigious Accountancy practice for a Senior Audit Manager, dealing with Not For Profit clients, to be based in their office near Regents Park, London.

This role does offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week.

The Role:

The Not-For-Profit (NFP) Department is a sub-division of the Firm's Audit Department, which acts as auditors for organisations of every type and size in various areas of commerce and industry. The Not-For-Profit team works with a range of clients including charities, trade unions, and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning, supervising, and reviewing audit work
  2. Reviewing statutory accounts in line with Charities SORP, the Further and Higher Education SORP and FRS102
  3. Supervising junior staff and providing assistance regarding technical queries and professional development, including conducting periodic appraisals
  4. Dealing with billing management
  5. Staff-related administration duties
  6. Ad hoc business consultancy
  7. Assisting in generating new business
  8. Assisting with staff recruitment for the audit department
  9. Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

Person Specification:

  1. ACA or ACCA qualified
  2. Proven audit experience within the NFP sector
  3. Experience with Higher Education, Charities and, potentially, Trade Union audits
  4. Experience of the Charities SORP
  5. Experience of the Further and Higher Education SORP
  6. Experience of FRS102
  7. Excellent technical ability and audit quality
  8. Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  9. Proven ability to prioritise workload
  10. Excellent communication skills

Additionally, it would be desirable to possess knowledge and experience in software packages including PROaudit (Audit Automation), AP, Alphatax, Excel, Word, and Outlook, although training will be provided on these. We also use Inflo and Data Snipper, and experience of these would also be beneficial.
