Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Audit Manager for a growing accountancy practice in the UK. You will manage a portfolio of audit clients from planning through completion, lead and develop a team of audit staff, and build strong client relationships.

You will have ACA or ACCA (or equivalent), proven audits experience, and strong technical knowledge of UK standards. The role offers scope for professional development and involvement in business development

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience managing audits within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Commercially aware with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee audit assignments from commencement through to completion.
• Review audit files, financial statements, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Identify risks, key audit issues, and opportunities for improving client processes and controls.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop audit seniors, semi-seniors, and trainees.
• Monitor audit budgets, deadlines, and resource allocation to ensure assignments are delivered efficiently.
• Support partners and directors with business development activities and networking opportunities.
• Keep up to date with changes in audit regulations, accounting standards, and industry developments.
