Senior Audit Manager – Hospitality Sector

A leading accountancy practice is seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Audit Manager to lead a key portfolio of clients within the hospitality sector. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced audit professional who thrives on building client relationships, delivering technical excellence, and mentoring others within a growing and dynamic division.

You’ll work closely with a variety of high-profile clients—ranging from hotels and restaurants to pub groups—while taking ownership of the end-to-end audit process and contributing to wider firm initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone ready to take on broader leadership responsibility, with a clear route to progression and the chance to shape both client delivery and team development.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Audit Manager, you will take a lead role in managing the statutory audit process across a complex and growing portfolio. In addition to ensuring high-quality delivery, you’ll act as a senior point of contact for clients, oversee a team of audit professionals, and support the strategic direction of the department.

This position offers excellent exposure, the ability to work autonomously, and the chance to influence firm-wide improvements in audit quality, client service, and internal processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing the complete statutory audit lifecycle from planning through to sign-off
• Managing a large portfolio of hospitality clients and ensuring service excellence
• Acting as the key relationship lead throughout the year for core clients
• Providing commercial and technical advice, supported by relevant tax and business specialists
• Reviewing complex audit files and managing audit risk
• Coaching, mentoring, and appraising audit team members, playing a central role in their progression
• Leading client meetings and representing the firm on new business pitches
• Driving internal improvements across workflow, processes, and service delivery
• Supporting department-wide resource planning, fee recovery, and efficiency
• Working with Partners on strategy, team management, and business development

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience managing audits in a client-facing practice role
• A strong understanding of UK GAAP, ISA standards, and audit methodology
• Sector knowledge in hospitality is advantageous, but not essential
• Strong team leadership and coaching abilities
• Excellent communication skills—confident, articulate and client-focused
• Commercially aware with sound judgement and a solutions-focused mindset
• Comfortable managing large and complex portfolios and teams
• Proficient in audit software such as Caseware or equivalent
