Job summary

Bowdon Associates Limited in Central London is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join its growing audit practice. You will take day-to-day responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit clients, delivering audits from planning through fieldwork to completion, within budgets and deadlines.

The role offers a clear path to Assistant Manager and beyond, with support for ongoing training, exposure to partners, and opportunities to add value for clients.

Qualifications

• Qualified or finalist close to qualification (ACCA/ACA).
• 2+ years of audit experience in practice, ideally mid-tier or higher.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102, IFRS and auditing standards.
• Experience leading fieldwork and supervising juniors.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit clients, from planning to completion.
• Deliver audits within budgets and deadlines; act as initial client contact.
• Work with managers and partners to ensure audit quality and client service.
• Mentor junior staff; review files and monitor progress against budgets.

Job Title: Senior Audit Associate

Location: Central London

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

The Opportunity

A well-respected, medium-sized, ACCA registered audit firm in Central London who are part of a global network are looking for a Senior Audit Associate to join its growing audit practice. The firm is known for its technical expertise and strong client relationships and offers a diverse range of services to a varied client base.

This is an excellent step up for a technically strong audit professional who wants more ownership of assignments, more direct client and partner exposure and a clear route to Assistant Manager and beyond.

The Role

• Take day-to-day responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit clients, driving assignments from planning through fieldwork to completion
• Deliver audits within agreed budgets and deadlines and act as an initial point of contact for clients
• Work closely with managers and partners to ensure audit quality, timely completion and excellent client service
• Handle technical matters on your assignments, escalating complex issues and reviewing audit files to a high standard
• Monitor work in progress against budget and flag potential problems to managers or partners early
• Supervise, coach and review the work of junior team members, acting as a mentor and role model
• Engage with client stakeholders on technical and audit judgement matters
• Build your knowledge of client sectors and technical areas
• Contribute to business development by supporting proposals and spotting opportunities for new work

About you

• ACCA or ACA qualified, or a finalist close to qualifying
• 2+ years' audit experience in practice, ideally in a mid-tier or higher firm
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102, IFRS and auditing standards
• Experience leading fieldwork and supervising junior colleagues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to stay calm and in control under pressure while keeping deadlines in view
• A proactive approach, with an eye for opportunities to add value for clients and the firm
