Job description

BHRUT invites applications for a full-time Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics.

This position is based on 10 Programmed Activities (PA) per week, with 8 PAs dedicated to clinical duties, 1 Supporting PA, and 1 PA for special interests and personal development.

You will join a dynamic team providing anaesthetic, critical care, and pain services. Responsibilities include elective and emergency anaesthesia, critical care, outpatient clinics, and more.

Main duties include:

  1. Providing high-quality anaesthetic services in collaboration with other departments.
  2. Adhering to the agreed job plan, reviewed annually.
  3. Participating in out-of-hours emergency on-call cover.
  4. Contributing to postgraduate and ongoing education.
  5. Deputising in colleagues' absence when needed.

Person specification:

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of anaesthesia training
  • Competence in general and high-risk anaesthesia
  • GMC registration with license to practice
  • Diploma in Anaesthesia or equivalent
  • Experience in audits and research
  • Broad experience in anaesthesia and analgesia
  • Ability to motivate junior staff
