The Opportunity

As a Senior Associate, Vendor Relationships (Market Data), you'll play a leading and crucial role in managing relationships with strategic third-party partners and market data vendors. You will actively help to mentor other team members and, as a senior member of the team, partner with the Manager for Investments Data to ensure we are continually improving in everything we do. Your deep understanding of vendor management, contract and commercial arrangements, and strategic initiatives will be vital in providing operational support across our diverse investment portfolio.

You'll be part of a team collaborating with colleagues across multiple time zones in a follow-the-sun model that ensures comprehensive global coverage while maintaining work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a market data SME to the business
  • Strong hands on experience in market data administration
  • End to end market data provision, enablement, contract negotiation and relationship management
  • Manage relationships with strategic third-party partners and market data vendors, building strong relationships with internal clients to understand their market data requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Track and establish SLAs and vendor data quality metrics, ensuring compliance with license agreements and commercials, and supporting market data audits.
  • Coordinate vendor-led initiatives and workshops, managing changes delivered by third-party vendors, and implementing new or changing market data and system requirements.
  • Provide knowledge of contracts and the licensing implications of changes
  • Provide a wealth of knowledge around core Market Data uses, flows and benefits
  • Support the management of third-party risk in accordance with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework, ensuring appropriate incident management frameworks are in place with vendors.
  • Update, maintain, and manage market data inventory in the FITS System (or equivalent)

The Skills and Expertise You Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, or related industry disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in market data, vendor management, or relationship management, with a strong understanding of market data product and service requirements within the investment management or superannuation / pension industry.
  • Strong ability to engage and build relationships as well as influence people at all levels and functions.
  • Excellent, all-round knowledge of the Market Data sector covering multiple Vendors (at least two of Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Factset, ICE and / or RIMES), technology and contractual obligations
  • Excellent organisational abilities including the management and coordination of tasks, with strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • An approachable manner and a “can do” attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to show a willingness to undertake administrative tasks and responsibilities, as well as the more strategic ones.
