The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Trusts professional to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, focusing on the accounting, tax, and administration of UK trusts, estates, and charities. The role is client-facing and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team setting and can manage deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of trust and estate clients, ensuring timely delivery of services.
• Maintain computerised accounting records and prepare annual trust and estate accounts.
• Handle all client and professional correspondence with HMRC, brokers, banks, and legal professionals.
• Prepare management accounts, cheques, and annual returns for charities.
• Compute and submit income tax, inheritance tax, and capital gains tax returns.
• Review work prepared by junior staff, providing guidance and identifying areas for improvement.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to documentation and billing processes.
• Stay up to date with software developments and share insights with the wider team.

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of UK and offshore trust taxation and charity regulations.
• Experience in a professional services or partnership environment.
• Proficient in CCH, trust accounts software, Viztopia, and MS Office.
• Qualified or studying towards ACCA, STEP, or CTA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
• A collaborative team player who builds effective relationships across all levels.
