Job Title: Senior Real Estate Solicitor/Partner - Head of Manchester Office [Legal 500]

Location: Manchester, UK

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Up to £90,000 DOE + Benefits + Bonus

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Property Solicitor, Senior Associate, or Partner to head up and build the Real Estate team in our Manchester office. This key role involves leading a growing team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the development of the department, managing a portfolio of clients, and mentoring junior solicitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development:

  1. Lead, manage, and grow the Property team in the Manchester office.
  2. Mentor and support junior solicitors and trainees.
  3. Develop and implement a strategy to expand the department, focusing on building relationships with clients and stakeholders in the Manchester market.

Client Management:

  1. Manage and develop a varied property law caseload, advising clients on commercial property transactions, acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development matters.
  2. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary contact for key clients.
  3. Provide property-related legal support to the Corporate and Insolvency teams.
  4. Assist in property-related issues arising from corporate transactions, restructurings, and insolvency proceedings.

Business Development:

  1. Actively contribute to the growth of the Property team through networking, business development, and client acquisition.
  2. Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and networking opportunities in the Manchester market and beyond.

Key Requirements:

  1. Qualified Solicitor (preferably with 5+ years PQE) with strong expertise in Real Estate law.
  2. Previous experience in managing a team or department, ideally within a law firm or in a senior position.
  3. Proven track record in building and developing a property department or team, with a strong focus on client relationship management.
  4. Experience in advising on commercial property matters, including development, leasing, acquisitions, and disposals.
  5. A collaborative and strategic approach to working with other departments, particularly Corporate and Insolvency.
  6. Strong business development skills and a proactive approach to growing a practice.
  7. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
