The Opportunity
- Join a well-established Projects, Development & Construction team focusing on non-contentious construction work.
- Advise developers, investors, funders, contractors, consultants and public sector bodies on a broad range of construction and development projects.
- Draft, negotiate and advise on construction, development and project documentation from project inception through to completion.
- Work on regeneration schemes, accommodation projects, energy and renewables developments, healthcare projects, hotels and infrastructure matters.
- Advise on a variety of procurement and contracting strategies, helping clients allocate and manage project risk.
- Handle both standard form and bespoke construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, EPC, EPCM and joint venture arrangements.
- Support clients on live project issues, including payment matters, delays, extensions of time, termination provisions and project risk management.
- Take responsibility for running matters, managing client relationships and supervising junior team members.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and play an active role in the continued growth of the practice.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years' PQE.
- Strong non-contentious construction experience gained within a recognised construction practice.
- Extensive knowledge of standard form construction contracts and appointments including JCT, NEC and FIDIC documentation.
- Experience advising on development, investor-led, housing or accommodation sector projects would be particularly beneficial.
- Comfortable handling complex and bespoke construction agreements.
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload and supervise more junior lawyers.
- Strong organisational, drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercially aware with the confidence to engage directly with clients and project stakeholders.
- A proactive team player with a genuine interest in the construction and development sector.
