Job summary

Bevan Brittan LLP seeks a Senior Associate for its national construction team, focusing on non-contentious, transactional projects. You will handle high-value instructions with supervision and strengthen client relationships.

The role involves drafting and negotiating a broad range of documents (JCT/NEC), advising on risk allocation, and coordinating through to completion with clients and funders. Hybrid working is offered across offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in transactional construction work with drafting and negotiating JCT/NEC.
• Familiarity with collateral warranties and security documents such as performance bonds and parent company guarantees.
• Commercial, pragmatic approach to risk with clear advice.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail; client-facing confidence.
• Ability to manage own workload and seek support when needed.
• Team-oriented mindset and collaborative working style.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients.
• Genuine interest in construction sector, regional clients including developers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction documents (including JCT/NEC) and related agreements.
• Advising on risk allocation and bespoke contractual solutions reflecting project requirements.
• Managing transactions from instruction to completion with clients, external counsel and project stakeholders.
• Keeping up to date with developments and contributing to know-how and client briefings.
