Job description

Senior Associate/Legal Director – Military Industrial Disease Solicitor

About the Role:

TSR Legal are currently working with a leading law firm in South Wales who are looking to grow the Industrial Disease team. This role will focus on representing current and former members of the armed forces who have developed illnesses or injuries due to exposure to harmful substances or unsafe working conditions during their service.

You will play a key role in pursuing claims against the Ministry of Defence and other bodies, working on complex and high-value cases relating to asbestos exposure, noise-induced hearing loss, chemical exposure, and other occupational diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a caseload of military-related industrial disease claims from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and investigations into military working environments and health & safety practices.
  • Liaise with medical professionals, expert witnesses, and military departments to gather evidence.
  • Prepare legal documents, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court or tribunals when necessary.
  • Provide clear, compassionate legal advice tailored to the unique needs of military personnel and veterans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and personal injury protocols.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (6+ years PQE preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience in industrial disease litigation or military claims.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, particularly in cases involving long-term illness or delayed diagnosis.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and legal documentation
