Job summary

DWF is seeking an experienced Senior Associate in our Government and Public Sector practice. You will advise central, devolved and local government bodies on public law and commercial issues, draft complex contracts, and support high‑profile funding programmes and procurements nationwide.

The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to mentor junior lawyers while developing market knowledge in subsidies control and public procurement.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with experience advising central, devolved and local government authorities on public law and commercial issues.
• Experience advising on public law risk, governance structures and procurement matters.
• Knowledge of interaction between politics, public policy and delivery in government bodies.

Responsibilities

• Advise public sector bodies on public law and commercial issues including governance and vires/powers.
• Draft, review and advise on complex contracts, including grant funding agreements and public procurement documents.
• Develop long‑term client relationships and collaborate with national colleagues.
