Job summary

AJ Chambers, a Legal 500 accredited firm, seeks a Senior Associate to join its Employment team in a highly experienced capacity. The role focuses on complex disciplinary and grievance matters, TUPE advice, and representation in Employment Tribunal claims.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years PQE in Employment law, with strong drafting and negotiation skills and a commercially driven approach. Flexible hybrid working is offered along with life insurance and other benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE in Employment law.
• Strong experience advising employer clients on contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Oversee redundancy processes and reorganisations.
• Provide TUPE advice and guidance on business transfers.
• Manage Employment Tribunal claims (unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract).
• Support senior executives with exits and negotiated settlements.
• Advise on restrictive covenants and post-termination disputes.
• Draft and advise on employment contracts.
• Provide HR advisory support for retained clients.
• Assist with employment aspects of M&A and incentives/share schemes.

Main Duties

• Complex disciplinary and grievance matters


• Redundancy processes and reorganisations


• TUPE advice and business transfers


• Employment Tribunal claims (unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract)


• Senior executive exits and negotiated settlements


• Restrictive covenants and post-termination disputes


• Drafting and advising on employment contracts


• HR advisory support for retained clients


• Corporate support on employment aspects of M&A


• Advising on employee incentive arrangements and share schemes

Key Requirements

• 5+ year's PQE in Employment law


• Strong experience advising employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters


• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills


• Commercially focused, solution-driven approach
