Job description

We are hiring a Senior Associate into our growing national team, to be based in the Norwich office.

The role

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced and entrepreneurial corporate solicitor to join our Norwich office as a Senior Associate. If that description fits you, you will enjoy undertaking a broad mix of corporate work, including M&A, corporate finance venture capital, as well as general corporate advisory work.

In Norwich, we are a growing team of currently 14 corporate lawyers (as part of a national practice of approximately 130 corporate lawyers) with approximately 260 staff in Norwich overall. You will get to advise clients ranging from start-ups and spinouts, through to international corporates, management teams and institutions on a broad range of corporate issues and transactions.

The person

You'll be a talented corporate lawyer with 3+ years' PQE, gained in a City or leading regional firm. Commercially minded and technically strong, you'll have experience managing M&A transactions, building trusted client relationships and taking ownership of complex work. You'll be a confident communicator with excellent drafting skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues. An interest in venture capital, investment rounds and the Technology or Life Sciences sectors would be advantageous. Above all, you'll bring energy, curiosity and a genuine enthusiasm for helping grow our practice, our client relationships and your own career.

The activities

Transactional Work

  • You will take an active role in running M&A, VC and other corporate transactions under the supervision of a Partner or a Principal Associate, producing drafts of the key transactions documents.
  • You will organise and liaise with junior members of the team and lawyers in other departments working on the transaction.

Business Development

  • We encourage our associates and senior associates to take part in business development activities. In doing so, you will be able to build your own network and help shape the future of the firm.
The benefits

As you'd expect, we offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.

If we offer you a role, we will conduct comprehensive pre-employment screening. This screening will include, but is not limited to, a basic DBS, verification of your right to work, a three year employment history and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Full details of our pre-screening employment process are available upon request.
