Job summary

Michael Page Legal in London is seeking a Permanent Non-Contentious Senior Associate Construction for 4–6 PQE. Lead complex transactions with autonomy, advise developers, contractors and funders, and mentor junior lawyers. Strong drafting and client‑facing skills are essential for high‑quality, commercially minded guidance.

You will advise on procurement strategies, negotiate JCT contracts, and collaborate across real estate, corporate, tax and disputes teams to deliver seamless legal solutions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales with 4 to 6 years PQE.
• Strong experience in non-contentious construction practice.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement, development projects and commercial considerations.
• Significant experience drafting and negotiating JCT contracts; NEC exposure advantageous.
• Ability to manage complex matters independently and provide commercial advice.
• Strong client relationships and business development skills.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Advising on procurement strategies across traditional, design and build, EPC and management contracting structures.
• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, pre-construction agreements and framework documents.
• Preparing and negotiating consultant appointments and professional team documentation.
• Advising on risk allocation, insurance arrangements and project security packages.
• Supporting development and forward-funding transactions and development management arrangements.
• Acting as the primary contact for clients and managing matters through the project life cycle.
• Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver integrated advice.
• Supervising and developing junior lawyers and supporting business development activities.
