A healthcare organization in Plymouth is seeking a Senior Assistant Technical Officer for Quality Control in Pharmacy Aseptics. The role involves overseeing environmental monitoring, managing compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and mentoring team members. This role involves coordinating routine environmental monitoring of the aseptic suite and Radiopharmacy department, including settle plates, surface sampling, microbial sampling, airflow measurements, and air particle monitoring.
The successful candidate will oversee validation processes, interpret microbial plates and samples, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Responsibilities include maintaining accurate environmental data records, liaising with the aseptic team, and ensuring all processes meet scheduled timelines.
Additional duties involve supervising and mentoring aseptic/QC ATOs, conducting performance reviews, managing temperature monitoring systems, and ensuring cold storage compliance. The role also includes obtaining certificates of analysis, performing pre-release checks on raw materials, managing stock and expiry dates, and handling external laboratory samples.
The candidate will prepare laboratory reagents, assist in documentation, participate in recruitment and training, and support stock control and housekeeping activities. They will also handle enquiries, participate in rotas, and undertake continuous professional development through study days and courses.
