Job description
Overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated senior assistant technical officer to work with our team in technical services.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and prepare medicines produced within Pharmacy Technical Services. This will involve working in a controlled environment and wearing protective garments and shoes.
  • Understand and follow standard operating procedures and demonstrate good manual dexterity.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of quality systems to ensure compliance with the terms of the MHRA Manufacturing \"Specials\" Licence in regard to all compounding and manufacturing processes.
  • Support external and internal training in pharmacy services and associated technical activities where required.
About the unit and service

The MHRA licensed \"Specials\" pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern purpose-built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy and pre-pack (over labelling and repackaging products) supplying both the Trust and external organisations. The department continually strives to re-engineer services to improve patient-focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.
