Job Description

Shire Healthcare is recruiting for a Senior Assistant Psychologist to work within a male inpatient rehab service based in Birmingham.

Role snapshot:

The appointed candidate will work within an MDT, providing psychological assessments, formulations, and 1-2-1 therapeutic interventions (under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist).

Responsibilities also include engaging in research projects, supporting the delivery and development of staff training initiatives, and contributing to service developments.

The successful candidate will plan and coordinate therapeutic groups and attend MDT meetings.

Contract type: Fixed-term contract, 2 years

Hours: Full-time

Salary: Starting from £23,675 FTE; salary dependent on experience

Experience required:

You must hold a Psychology degree with a minimum of 2:1 honours, recognized by BPS. Additionally, you should have at least 12 months experience working with severe mental health, learning disabilities, physical health issues, or cognitive impairments.
