Job description

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, motivated and highly IT literate Senior Assistant Psychologist to work (part time) with the East of England Psychological Professions Network.

This interesting, dynamic and varied role offers a unique opportunity to support the psychological professions at a regional and national level, collaborating with PPN colleagues, experts by experience, members of the psychological professions, aspiring professionals, NHS England colleagues, training course providers and members of the public.

Ideally, you would already have gained some clinical experience and be looking to build leadership competences, develop understanding of the national / regional context and strengthen invaluable co-production skills.

This post has become available as a consequence of the successful career progression to clinical training of our current postholder.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and follow recruitment practices intended to promote equality of access to our roles.

Much of our work takes place online, however we would like the successful applicant to be able to attend our Mid Essex base and Trust Head Quarters on occasion and if required. This can be discussed further at interview.

[Information about the PPN can be found at www.ppn.nhs.uk – search by region – East of England]

Please note this is a part time position, working 18.75 hrs per week.

The PPN provides regional leadership for the psychological professions and our Senior Assistant Psychologists are vital to this. Activities include:

  • Supporting meetings for our communities of practice, where psychological professionals come together around shared interests, to connect, share learning and expertise, capitalise on opportunities and address challenges.
  • Working on specific projects with experts by experience
  • Designing presentations to explain our work or publicise the psychological professions more generally
  • Connecting with PPN teams in other regions and contributing to national meetings
  • Maintaining our website content and overseeing our membership
  • Taking part in national psychological professions week in November
  • Disseminating information about the professions
  • Publicising events
  • Working with the Chair of the East of England PPN, to ensure that the benefits of the psychological professions can be experienced by the public.
  • Audit and evaluation
  • Producing publications
