Senior Asset Surveyor - Social Housing
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: 58,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Asset Surveyor to join a respected housing organisation in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and motivated professional to play a key role in managing housing assets, improving stock condition, and driving long-term investment strategies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver asset management programmes and conduct condition surveys across the organisation's housing portfolio.
- Lead the delivery of planned maintenance and asset management programmes.
- Manage and analyse asset data to support long-term investment planning.
- Identify properties requiring repairs, component replacement, or improvement works.
- Provide professional technical advice on building pathology, condition, and performance.
- Support the preparation and delivery of the organisation's asset management strategy.
- Manage contractors and consultants to ensure high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for capital investment, maintenance, and compliance.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, health & safety standards, and housing regulations.
- Liaise with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Asset Surveyor or Senior Surveyor within social housing or property management.
- Strong understanding of building pathology, stock condition surveying, and asset data management.
- Experience managing contractors and planned maintenance programmes.
- Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and housing standards.
- Ability to analyse property data and make evidence-based investment recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field preferred.
- RICS or CIOB membership desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
