Senior Asset Surveyor - Social Housing

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: 58,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Asset Surveyor to join a respected housing organisation in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and motivated professional to play a key role in managing housing assets, improving stock condition, and driving long-term investment strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver asset management programmes and conduct condition surveys across the organisation's housing portfolio.
  • Lead the delivery of planned maintenance and asset management programmes.
  • Manage and analyse asset data to support long-term investment planning.
  • Identify properties requiring repairs, component replacement, or improvement works.
  • Provide professional technical advice on building pathology, condition, and performance.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of the organisation's asset management strategy.
  • Manage contractors and consultants to ensure high-quality delivery and value for money.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for capital investment, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, health & safety standards, and housing regulations.
  • Liaise with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Asset Surveyor or Senior Surveyor within social housing or property management.
  • Strong understanding of building pathology, stock condition surveying, and asset data management.
  • Experience managing contractors and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and housing standards.
  • Ability to analyse property data and make evidence-based investment recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field preferred.
  • RICS or CIOB membership desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
