Job summary

A not-for-profit organization in the UK is looking for a Senior Asset Surveyor to oversee the Bristol and Swindon areas. In this role, you will manage contractors, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and produce performance reports. Swindon – covering Bristol and Swindon

£48,753 - £51,319 per year plus Company Car or Car Allowance

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 17:00pm

We are seeking a Senior Asset Surveyor to join our team covering Bristol and Swindon areas. The role will involve managing a team of Asset Surveyors, monitoring works progress and post inspections as well as liaising with external contractors.

The role of Senior Asset Surveyor will include:

  • Managing contractors in accordance with their contractual terms, making recommendations for improvements and implementing actions
  • Supporting the delivery of a cost effective maintenance service by operating within appropriate financial policies, procedures and budgets
  • Producing appropriate reports relating to surveying and contractor performance and cost on specific maintenance issues to enable them to be addressed and resolved
  • Ensuring that health and safety and healthy working conditions are promoted within their area of responsibility
  • Attending monthly performance reviews with the contractors, checking of invoicing and ensuring that payments are made in line with contractual obligations
  • Managing the recruitment, performance and development of quality staff to ensure that skilled staff are available to meet business needs
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing the operational delivery of a cost effective voids and medical adaptations service by operating within appropriate financial policies, procedures and agreed budgets

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying qualified or currently undertaking the qualifications. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Proven experience of undertaking a similar role within a building and surveying environment with a good working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practice
  • A Strong understanding of repairs processes
  • Proven experience in working with others to deliver property related works, including indirect reports and third party suppliers
  • Working knowledge of legislations and best practice
  • Ability to extract and interpret computerised information and documentation
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
