We are actively seeking a Senior Consultant/Engineer to support our EICA activities within the Asset Management team on projects across the water and energy sectors of the business. You'll play a pivotal role in establishing and consolidating relationships across Arcadis and our client base, working on delivery of electrical and ICA engineering activities, and associated quality, supporting the delivery of projects, or specialised components of projects for key clients.

The role would involve working in our Resilience Global Business Area where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Although the function sits within Water and Energy, the group is looking to expand into other areas and work across multiple functions. You will be part of a team and play a vital role in growing the business and creating opportunity.

  • Lead by example to promote continual improvement in SHE performance across the business, including safe by design initiatives and any specific personal targets.
  • Applying your skills, knowledge, and insight to deliver projects on time, meeting both quality and budgetary targets, whilst striving to exceed client expectations.
  • Providing Technical Support and expertise within Asset Management Life Cycle, ranging from Technical Project Specification, to use of phase and asset optimisation, and demonstrating an understanding of asset life cycles.
  • Being able to work on projects with existing and new clients, bringing real-life examples and experience to bear.
  • Being flexible in your approach and ability to work effectively across sectors and industries as part of a team or individually, leading small-medium sized projects or sub-projects.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the EICA engineering sector.
  • Promoting and marketing all facets of the company's services during client interfaces and generally.
  • Encouraging innovative and entrepreneurial thinking among team members.
  • Engaging with and utilising fully the Global Excellence Centres (GECs) as key members and resources of your business teams, and as a seamless part of our service offering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Be an experienced electrical or ICA engineer, with a sound and practicable holistic understanding of delivering EICA engineering solutions in complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Have a sound and practicable understanding of process safety protocols: HAZOP, DSEAR, etc.
  • Have experience of and be capable of fulfilling multi-disciplinary technical reviews and assurance roles.
  • Have an awareness of key legislation, hazards and safe systems of work.
  • Possess strong stakeholder management skills, e.g., awareness and understanding of other discipline inputs and how this influences EICA solutions.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a sound understanding of the principles of sustainable design.
  • Be focused on health, safety, and all dimensions of people welfare.
  • Have a strong focus on designing and deploying effective project delivery processes.
  • Be capable of building credible peer-to-peer relationships with other senior stakeholders.
  • Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Have achieved Member and Chartered professional status with the IET or equivalent (or working towards).
  • A background with Asset management, an understanding to a practitioner level within Reliability Centred Maintenance approach, ISO or similar would be of benefit.
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of digital approaches and data analytics and how to develop the systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to add value to teams and accounts through a highly collaborative approach.
  • Confident communicator and strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • A willingness to work in client co-located offices and teams.
  • The confidence and flexibility to thrive in the delivery of projects in structured and unstructured work environments.
