Job Description

The Opportunity :

We have 12 summer jobs available for individuals eager to work outdoors on farms assessing plant crops from 10 November 2025 until mid-January 2026.

You will complete field inspections of seed crops prior to harvest to ensure they meet NZ Seed Certification Scheme requirements.

Specific regions we are targeting include :

  • Ashburton
  • Lincoln
  • Timaru

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct Seed Certification crop inspections according to MPI specifications for the NZ Seed Certification Scheme
  • Perform inspections following AsureQuality's documented procedures
  • Communicate effectively with farmers
  • Work individually or in teams of two as required
  • Follow health & safety protocols
  • Drive a work vehicle to reach customer farms
  • Work under supervision of experienced team members until qualified to carry out inspections independently

  • Fixed-term contract for 2 months, with a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 50 hours per week (expectation of 40 hours, weather dependent)

About You :

The ideal candidates will have :

  • Prior arable or on-farm work experience
  • Completed at least two tertiary papers in agriculture
  • A full driver's license
  • A can-do attitude and ability to work well under pressure in a team
  • High attention to detail, excellent customer service, and strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work around 40 hours per week, with hours varying due to weather conditions
