Job description

Senior Assay Scientist - Biotechnology

Position Overview

Newton Colmore has partnered with an exciting start-up in Birmingham seeking a Senior Assay Development Scientist to join their emerging team.

As an Assay Development Scientist reporting directly to the Head of R&D, you will be part of the scientific R&D team, focusing on the development and evaluation of rapid in vitro diagnostics tools during development and transfer to manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work across standard and next-generation technologies.
  2. Collaborate with science and engineering teams for assay and device integration.
  3. Generate performance evaluation data.
  4. Contribute to experimental planning, system improvement, and product development.
  5. Provide support and guidance to fellow scientists and engineers.
Candidate Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in the in vitro diagnostics field.
  • Ideally PhD qualified; Master's candidates will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques including RT and qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and quantification.
