Senior Assay Scientist - Biotechnology

Overview

Newton Colmore has partnered with an exciting start-up in Birmingham, seeking a Senior Assay Development Scientist to join their growing team.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Head of R&D, you will be part of the scientific R&D team, focusing on the development and evaluation of rapid in vitro diagnostics tools. Your work will support development and transfer to manufacturing activities.

You will collaborate across standard and next-generation technologies, working with science and engineering teams to support assay and device integration, and generate performance evaluation data. Your contributions will include experimental planning, system improvement, product development, and providing support and guidance to colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

• Hands-on experience in the in vitro diagnostics field.
• Ideally PhD qualified; Master's candidates will also be considered.
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as RT and qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and quantification.
