Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 senior professional for the Aseptic Production Unit. The post is open to pharmacists or pharmaceutical scientists who will oversee quality, release unlicensed medicines on time, and supervise staff while deputising for the Lead Pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Qualified to an M Pharm or honours degree in pharmaceutical sciences or chemistry with post-grad training.
• Registration with GPhC and/or HCPC or RPS is required.
• Experience with GMP/GDP and CPD activities.
• Strong leadership and problem solving in a regulatory setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational quality of production processes in a cost-effective and efficient way.
• Assure the quality of all unlicensed medicines manufactured and prepared at the APU.
• Ensure timely release of prepared and manufactured unlicensed medicines.
• Certify unlicensed medicines as compliant with the Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.
• Validate production processes for compliance with aseptic preparation standards.
• Supervise less experienced staff and provide training where necessary.
• Deputise for Lead Pharmacists as required.
