Senior Architectural Technologist

Location: Chipping Norton

Salary: 38-45,000+ DOE

A Senior Architectural Technologist is sought to join a dynamic studio based in Chipping Norton, working across a wide range of residential projects. The role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to conservation and residential schemes, focusing on the sustainable adaptation and sensitive transformation of historic buildings. The successful candidate will bring over several years of post-qualification experience and a passion for breathing new life into heritage properties. Projects include mansion houses, manor houses, rectories, and farmsteads across the Cotswolds. Due to the nature of site visits and regional travel, a full clean driving license and access to a personal vehicle are essential. Mileage is reimbursable.

Daily Duties

  • Support and lead architectural projects from early planning stages to construction
  • Prepare and coordinate high-quality drawing packages for planning, listed building consent, building control, and construction
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations across all stages
  • Deliver technical packages on time, within budget, and to the highest conservation standards
  • Work on a range of traditional and historic buildings, developing sustainable and buildable solutions
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver successful conservation outcomes

Ideal Candidate

  • Chartered Member of CIAT
  • Accredited or actively working toward building conservation accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of historic building conservation, repair, and maintenance
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Excellent understanding of UK building regulations
  • Extensive experience in construction detailing, particularly with traditional materials
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to conservation best practices
