Senior Architectural Technician

Salary: £38-42,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading design consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Architectural Technician to join its Cardiff-based team. This is a key role for a confident and experienced technician who is ready to lead the technical delivery of residential projects from concept to completion. The RIBA-chartered practice works across the commercial, residential, education and leisure sectors.

The successful Senior Architectural Technician will be the technical lead on a diverse range of housing schemes, including both private and affordable residential developments. You will play an integral role in shaping project outcomes, managing detailed design work and ensuring seamless coordination across teams and stakeholders.

Skills, Responsibilities and Experience for the role of Senior Architectural Technician:

* Relevant degree or an HNC/HND in Architectural Technology

* Substantial post-qualification experience in a technical role within the residential sector

* Oversee the production of detailed drawings and technical packages

* Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors

* Provide technical leadership throughout all project stages, particularly RIBA Stages 3-5

* Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and housing standards

* Supervise and mentor junior team members

* Lead coordination of multidisciplinary inputs to ensure design and delivery excellence

* High level of proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

* Strong understanding of construction techniques, detailing and material specifications

* Confident managing project timelines and leading design coordination

* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

* Familiarity with planning policy, building standards and sustainable design principles
