Conrad Consulting is working with an award-winning leader in eco-friendly modular building design and construction. They are seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist for their Coventry, West Midlands office.

The company offers turnkey services from planning to handover across sectors such as Education, Commercial, and Leisure.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in architectural design and department management, especially within the Education sector, with knowledge of Department for Education standards. You will lead significant projects and expand the portfolio in Education and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).

You will oversee all phases of design and construction documentation, collaborating with architects and engineers, and reporting to the Technical Director.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess strong design and technical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with BIM, passive design, and sustainability is advantageous.

  • Registered with ARB / CIAT with around 10 years of post-chartered UK experience.
  • Cross-sector experience, primarily in Education, with some experience in commercial and leisure sectors.
  • Experience with BIM Level 2 workflows and environmental considerations.
  • Proven leadership in project teams and managing complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in design software such as Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of NBS/Uniclass Specification software.
  • Knowledge of Passivhaus and timber frame construction is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor architectural team members.
  • Manage design process from sketches to detailed designs, adhering to RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Prepare compliant designs following UK standards and regulations.
  • Advise on material specifications with sustainability in mind.
  • Author specifications and update technical information from manufacturers.
  • Assist with statutory submissions such as Planning and Building Regulations.
  • Contribute to Pre-Construction Information development.
  • Support project teams in designing within budget and value engineering.
  • Participate in project review meetings and coordinate with other teams.
  • Conduct thorough checks of architectural information before approval.
  • Ensure document control compliance.
What We Offer
  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000, negotiable based on experience.
