Senior Architects - RIBA or ARB registered

Southwark, London | £55,000 – £65,000

About the Company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a medium-sized, design-led architecture practice specialising in infrastructure and public realm projects. With a strong reputation in transport, water infrastructure, and active travel, the practice is known for integrating vital civic projects into the social and physical fabric of the places they serve.

Their friendly and collaborative culture brings together architects, landscape architects, engineers, and consultants who genuinely enjoy working together to deliver meaningful, people-focused outcomes.

What makes them different?

  • A supportive, social, and professional environment where design rigour is paired with real team spirit
  • Work that’s rewarding and purposeful, focused on shaping the UK’s sustainable infrastructure
  • A studio where individuals are trusted and empowered, with strong project ownership and design responsibility
  • A practice with an excellent pipeline of nationally significant work — offering real scope for growth
  • About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Architect with strong design, technical and communication skills to take a lead role on a major water infrastructure scheme. This is a high-profile, multidisciplinary project currently progressing through RIBA Stages 2–3 toward a Development Consent Order (DCO) submission.

You’ll work closely with other senior architects, internal design teams, and external consultants across landscape and engineering. You’ll play a central role in coordinating design development, leading stakeholder engagement, managing internal resource, and ensuring technical and regulatory compliance.

This is a great opportunity for a confident, hands-on designer who thrives in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment and wants to shape public infrastructure at scale.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the architectural design process across early project stages (RIBA 2–3)
    • Manage internal design teams and act as point of contact for external consultants
    • Develop presentation material for stakeholder engagement and public consultation
    • Oversee coordination of multidisciplinary input for DCO submission
    • Monitor project progress, resource, time, and cost performance
    • Ensure high standards of design quality and technical delivery
    • Contribute to broader practice knowledge and professional development

    About You

    Essential:

    • Part III qualified with ideally 10+ years’ experience
    • Strong interest in infrastructure, placemaking, and complex urban sites
    • Demonstrable design ability with clear, high-quality presentation skills
    • Experience managing project teams and coordinating with external consultants
    • Understanding of design standards and technical compliance
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
    • Proficiency in 2D MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and Adobe (or Affinity) Suites
    • UK work eligibility

    Desirable:

    • Proficiency in 3D AECOSIM
    • Experience working on strategic-scale infrastructure or public realm projects
    • Comfortable navigating public sector processes and multidisciplinary input
    • Self-motivated and able to lead with initiative

    Working Environment & Benefits

    • Southwark-based studio with hybrid flexibility (1 day/week WFH)
    • Friendly, inclusive team culture with a strong social side
    • Professional development and growth actively supported
    • Competitive salary based on experience
    • Opportunity to lead and contribute to nationally significant public infrastructure projects
