Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a Senior Architect Engineer to focus on architectural engineering for oil & gas projects in the UK and overseas. The role entails delivering architectural designs, producing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in architecture or building engineering and at least 12 years of relevant experience, including a background in the oil and gas sector. Knowledge of design software like AutoCAD and Revit is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years experience, with 8 years specifically in oil & gas related building design.
• Preferred: Registered or Chartered Engineer status.
• Knowledge of international specifications and UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop Architectural design philosophies and plans.
• Produce sketches, 3D models, and detailed drawings.
• Review and check engineering deliverables related to oil & gas projects.

Senior Architect Engineer

Architectural engineering and design aspects for Detailed Engineering, EPC and FEED projects: Oil & Gas and Process Plants Projects in UK and overseas, Green Energy and Biofuels Projects in UK and overseas

Deliverables

• Architectural / Buildings Design Philosophy
• Architectural / Buildings Sketches, 3D Models (Revit) and Drawings - Plans, Elevations, Sections, Details, Schedules, Site Plans, Composite Elevations
• Buildings List / Matrix
• Architectural Specifications
• Architectural Technical Reports and Scopes of Work
• Preparation of MTO's
• Review and checking of engineering deliverables
• Inputs to architectural drawings and 3D models prepared by others
• Above, as applicable to oil and gas project buildings, typically (but not limited to) Control Buildings, Electrolyser Buildings, Electrical Buildings / Substations, Instrument Buildings, Compressor / Turbine Buildings, process / clad industrial structures, Pump Houses, Shelters etc

Duration of Assignment

6-12 months

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience

• Engineering / Architectural qualification - HNC, Degree or equivalent in Architecture or Building Engineering
• Preferred - Registered or Chartered Engineer - member of an appropriate professional organization
• Min 12 years experience (8 years in the field of Buildings related to oil & gas and hydrocarbon projects Detailed Design, EPC and FEED projects Spatial design and building aesthetic design experience)
• Knowledge of Planning / Permitting package drawings and deliverables (UK, International)
• Knowledge and experience of applicable international and industry specifications, standards and codes
• Knowledge and experience of UK Building Regulations and BREEAM
• Complimentary knowledge of Building design and coordination e.g. Building services, HVAC and other coordination interfaces for the design of industrial Buildings
• Hands‑on experience of engineering software and tools as relevant to Architectural engineering and design e.g. AutoCAD, Revit
• Experience of blast resistant buildings architectural design
• Experience of clad modular process buildings architectural design
