Job description

Konker is working with a respected multi-disciplinary practice just outside of Portsmouth to recruit a Senior Architect to lead and grow their architectural team.

This is a key strategic hire, with the successful candidate stepping into a leadership position within a team of 11 architecture professionals.

You ll be responsible for mentoring and managing a mix of Architects and Technicians, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of work across a broad portfolio.

The practice works across a range of sectors, with current projects in commercial, MOD, education, and healthcare. The variety of work, scale, and client type makes this a highly engaging and rewarding role for an Architect who thrives on both the technical and people sides of the profession.

While team leadership is a core part of the position, you ll also be hands-on with project delivery, producing, reviewing, and coordinating packages alongside your team. Most drawing work is done in AutoCAD, with some Revit in use for reviews and ongoing integration.

To Be Considered:- Senior Architect

• A qualified Architect with team leadership or management experience.
• A strong background in commercial architecture, with familiarity across MOD, healthcare, and education projects being advantageous.
• Someone comfortable balancing management with technical/project delivery.
• Confidence working with clients, managing deadlines, and delivering a consistent standard across your team.
• An ability to support and develop others while still contributing to the hands-on work.

The role is primarily office-based to support team collaboration and management, but there is some flexibility for home working.

All staff must be eligible for DBS Enhanced and SC (Security Check) Clearance, so this role is only open to UK residents who have lived in the country for a minimum of 5 years.
