Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Senior Architect to lead projects from concept to completion, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with clients, consultants and contractors. The role requires ARB registration and a proactive, leadership-minded approach in a collaborative studio environment.

The successful candidate will manage planning and Building Regulations submissions, oversee site visits, and ensure design excellence while working in a dynamic, agile office setting.

Qualifications

• ARB-registered Architect with several years’ post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience managing projects through all RIBA stages.
• Excellent technical detailing and construction knowledge.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring colleagues.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Happy to work from the Leicester office five days a week within an agile working environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects through all RIBA work stages.
• Produce high-quality design proposals and technical drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage planning applications and Building Regulations submissions.
• Undertake site visits and oversee projects during construction.
• Mentor and support junior members of the architectural team.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain excellent technical and design standards throughout project delivery.
