Penguin Recruitment in Leeds is seeking a Senior Architect to lead projects from concept to completion. You will drive planning, technical drawings, and coordination with consultants, ensuring alignment with UK Building Regulations and client expectations.

The ideal candidate is ARB-registered, with extensive experience across RIBA stages, proficient in Revit, and able to mentor junior staff while working in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• ARB-registered Architect with experience across all RIBA stages.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning policy.
• Proficient in Revit with BIM workflows; familiarity with NBS spec software.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through to completion across all RIBA work stages.
• Produce planning, technical and construction drawing packages, including specs and schedules.
• Coordinate and manage project delivery with internal teams and external consultants.
• Act as main point of contact for clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet programme, budget, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review technical information per UK Building Regulations.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to design development and bids.
• Attend site visits, design meetings and CPD events.

Senior Architect

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead architectural projects from concept through to completion across all RIBA work stages
• Produce planning, technical and construction drawing packages, including specifications and schedules
• Coordinate and manage project delivery alongside internal teams and external consultants
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality standards
• Prepare and review technical information in accordance with UK Building Regulations and current legislation
• Support and mentor junior members of the architectural team
• Contribute to design development, project bids and client presentations where required
• Attend site visits, design meetings and CPD events to maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness

Ideal Candidate:

• ARB-registered Architect
• Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA work stages
• Strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning policy and construction detailing
• Proficient in Revit with a good understanding of BIM workflows
• Experience using NBS specification software is desirable
• Excellent design, communication, and project management skills
• Confident managing multiple projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Proactive, organised, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
