In this role, you will:

• Act as the people manager for a team of IT architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team aligned with organisational goals.
• Prioritise workload with stakeholders and manage team allocation effectively.
• Facilitate training to develop technical and professional skills.
• Lead the development and maturity of the IT Architecture function.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for IT projects, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
• Understand BDO's business drivers and capabilities to design enterprise systems that achieve business outcomes.
• Monitor the current solution portfolio to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Define principles, standards, and patterns for technology decisions aligned with our future architecture vision.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural designs.
• Evaluate and select software standards and design configurations.
• Engage with leadership to communicate opportunities, risks, and costs related to platform architecture.
• Influence strategic decisions to implement cost-effective, complex business solutions.
• Ensure IT Architecture is recognised as a valuable asset to BDO.

You should have:

• Proven experience in IT architecture, solution design, and system implementation, including migration and greenfield projects.
• Success in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions.
• Experience managing people, including performance reviews and workload prioritisation.
• Leadership in cross-functional teams and stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience with large-scale, secure, scalable enterprise environments.
• Preferably, experience with Microsoft technologies.
• Strong vendor/partner management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of application development, infrastructure, and network architecture.
• Ability to work effectively with both in-house and outsourced development teams.
